The simple pleasures in life must be recognised, we need to take time to appreciate the small things – a sunrise, a smile, a good coffee or good hair day. As Kathleen Noonan, journalist and feature writer in the Courier Mail put it;
“In praise of the small joys of life, big moments, big schmoments – you can keep them. Give me, instead, the unexpected moments, the wisps of joy. Those i can cope with. They come via small yet perfectly formed treasures.”
Instead of focusing on the monumental moments and allowing them to define our day, week or life, pay attention to the millions of small moments that make us smile.
