The I-woke-up-looking-like-this, is something we all want. After all who wouldn’t want to walk around in converse, the perfect-fit skinny jeans, a soft cashmere knit and be declared a fashion pioneer. It could also have something to do with the perfect hair and flawless skin. There are some stand out girls that wear the M.O.D look to perfection. According to Alexander Wang, the M.O.D look doesn’t come from the the pages of Porter Magazine alone (sometimes it does), it comes from treating every item equally. Don’t be a slave to the labels.
Alexander Wang on the M.O.D look: “It’s this very disheveled look that I was known for from earlier shows,” Alexander explained. “But it goes deeper than that. I was thinking about how this high-low mix came about, and I felt that it originated from girls backstage. A model who runs around in jeans, but then she’s introduced to Karl Lagerfeld and he gives her a Chanel jacket that she throws on. It’s this idea that everything is the same, treated in a very equal way without rules.”
