Skin is an expression of the internal health and state of being, the healthier and better functioning a system is internally, the healthier we will appear. There is no denying the relationship between what we eat, drink and how we treat our bodies, and the way we appear to the outside world. Everything from posture, the shine of hair, the strength of nails and complexion of skin is a reflection of the inner state of being. When the body is not receiving what it needs to function at its optimum level, it is under stress. These indicators reveal themselves in various ways; fluid retention, aches and joint pains, headaches, skin breakouts, inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. If we ignore the signs of stress, we begin to accept the symptoms as our state of being though we are in fact under stress and our bodies; immune system, physical, emotional and mental conditions are compromised. Extended periods of stress result in a system that is continuously working harder than it should to maintain its healthiest state, though we never feel fantastic, we are functioning.
This is a choice, and if we have a choice to just live, or live well, we should choose to live well. Changing the way we live our life is easy. All it requires is commitment to a lifestyle and existence of health and ease.
