No matter how you want to say it; “agreeable” “difficult” “easy going”, there are four main personality types that can be recognised in most personalities on the planet. This isn’t to say that you are one and none of the others, some people fit one personality type to a tee, but most of the population will be a combination of two and sometimes more. So, whats the point? I’ve pretty much just told you that thought there are personality types, we are all a mix, but there is a very good reason to know about distinguishable personality types, traits and behaviours. Knowing the foundations of personality will enable you to understand yourself better, and in turn other people. This will help you on your own journey and that with others; family, friends or coworkers.
The four main personality types are: Assertive, amiable, expressive, and analytical.
If you want to go deeper, have a look at the Myers-Briggs personality test – it’s well known and one of the most accurate systems. It works on a code system, breaking personality into 16 types (all extensions of the primary 4) comprised of four letters selected out of a possible 8, that best represents your personality. It’s fun.
